When should you enroll in Medicare?
Generally, you will want to enroll in Medicare during your Initial Medicare Enrollment Period or IEP. This is a 7-month window surrounding your 65th birthday.
If you are eligible for Medicare Insurance, your initial Medicare enrollment period for Part A and Part B begins three months before the month of your 65th birthday and ends three months after it. For example, if your 65th birthday is in June, your initial enrollment period will extend from March 1 through September 30.
